With the victim’s enthusiastic cooperation, Meiwes cut off Brandes’s penis, cooked it, then served it up for the two of them to eat together. He then stabbed Brandes through the neck, chopped up the corpse, froze certain parts for future consumption, and buried the rest. He also recorded the whole thing which was shown at trial.

“For doctors and medical workers, the woman bleeding from a botched abortion was a familiar figure in hospital emergency rooms in the 1950s and ’60s. Entire wards were given over to patients suffering from septic abortions. Women tried to abort themselves with abortifacients or irritants administered as douches: Lysol, soap, kerosene, vinegar, powdered mustard, bleach, among others. They used, or others on them, garden hoses, syringes, telephone wire, coat hangers, nut picks, pencils, catheters, and chopsticks. They were brought into hospital wards by the hundreds, bleeding from perforated uteruses. In 1962, for instance, Cook County Hospital in Chicago treated nearly five thousand women for abortion-related complications. Police crackdowns forced women to self-abort or resort to untrained specialists, with the result that deaths increased, doubling in New York City between 1951 and 1962. In the 1960s, they accounted for nearly half of maternal mortality.”

Courier Times-Telegraph publisher Nelson Clyde says the paper has investigated this and concluded that readers didn’t get newspapers with the Post-It note in the position shown here. “We believe it’s not possible for the machines to have positioned it” in that manner and “it is our belief that the photos that have been put up on your site and others show stickers that were removed” and put in a new place to create the LIQUID ASS headline.

The takeaway: that Jim Romenesko got a newspaper publisher to type LIQUID ASS in an email.

The second statement is the really weird thing - are you mad you don’t know what I’m looking for? Is that just an observation and not a criticism? So weird. Do most people put on OKC a laundry list of what they ARE looking for, specifically? Because if so, I find that incredibly limiting and close-minded. Exactly this.

So sick of hearing “if there is comprehensive sex ed and free access to birth control their will be no abortions.” That is NOT true. So sick of the left making abortion a bad thing and something we should be trying to end. No, we have to keep it safe and legal. People will always need abortions for one reason or another.
